Two records for day two of swimming championships

The St. Kate's swimming and diving team set two new school records on day two of the MIAC Championships, and the team moved into sixth place with 177 points.

Steffanie Jurusik lowered her own school record in the 100 back for the third time this weekend. After lowering it on the lead leg of yesterday's 400 Medley Relay (59.99), she lowered it again in prelims of the 100 back (59.95). Then brought it to its current resting point of 59.85 during the finals of the 100 back, where she placed 5th.

The Wildcats 200 Medley Relay of  Jurusik, Alli Witt, Bridget Perkins and Sarah Vrudny also smashed a St. Kate's school record. Their time of 1:50.17 was 1.5 seconds faster than the Wildcats record set last season.

Sarah Moody was the top individual place finisher for SCU on day two. She placed fourth in the 3-Meter diving with a score of 351.40.

The Wildcats wrap up their season today with the finals of the MIAC Championships continuing at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.
