The St. Kate's tennis team defeated Bethel University 7-2 in MIAC action last night. The Wildcats got off to a fast start as they swept all three doubles matches and then went on to pick up victories at four of the six singles matches.
Jenna Olson led the Wildcats charge picking up a vicotry at #2 singles (1-6, 6-2, 10-5) to go along with her 8-4 victory at #2 doubles. In singles play Olson responded after dropping the first set 6-1 with a strong 6-2 victory in the second set to force the third set tie breaker. Olson carried her momentum into that super breaker set and won 10-5.
Kasie Rust, Martha Ginder, and Lauren Beadnell joined Olson in picking up victories in both singles and doubles action.
At first doubles, Ginder and Susie Hallquist defeated Bethel's top duo 9-8 (8-6) in a tie-breaker set.
The Wildcats return to action on Friday April 24 when they host the University of Wisconsin River Falls at 4pm.
