Volleyball collects post season awards

Four Wildcats were honored when the  MIAC office announced the 2009 Volleyball Award Winners.

Head coach Nicole Hess was named MIAC Co-Coach of the Year. Hess led St. Kate's to an 18-12 overall record. Included in their overall record, Hess' team had a 6-5 record in conference play. The four win improvement jumped them from tenth in 2008 to tying for fourth this season.

Maria Hoffman wrapped up her outstanding career by collecting her third consecutive MIAC All-Conference Award. The senior middle hitter finished with 369 Kills, 317 digs and 102 blocks. Her 369 kills are the most in a single season by any St. Kate's volleyball player on record. That was also the second highest kill total in the MIAC. Hoffman has amassed 1,237 kills, 936 digs and 336 blocks in her four years at St. Kate's.

First year Nina Lindquist was named the MIAC Rookie of the Year. The stellar setter finished the season with 1,159 set assists, which is an average of 10.17 per set. Lindquist's assist total was the second most in the MIAC.

Nicole Neumann was named the St. Kate's representative on the 2009 All-MIAC Volleyball Sportsmanship Team.
