The St. Kate's swimming and diving team finished third at the Roger Ahlman (Macalester) Invitational with 334 points. This is a strong improvement over last year's finish in 4th place with 210 points and shows what a great season the Wildcats are off to.
Steffanie Jurusik for the second week in a row set a new school record. This time she claimed the 200 Backstroke record, with a time of 2:14.89. Breaking the old record of 2:15.22 set by Allie Jones in 2008. Jurusik won this event and set a new meet record. Jurusik also finished 2nd in the 100 Back (1:03.06).
Other top place finishes for the Wildcats included a win by Allison Witt in the 200 IM (2:18.96) and a second place finish in the 100 Breaststroke (1:12.50). First year Melanie Maas and Sophomore Reba Bisciglia had a strong meet with two of the most difficult event line-ups to complete in just under 4 hours. Maas swam season best times in the 400 IM (5:19.50) and 500 Free (5:54.47). Bisciglia also achieved season best times as she swam the 400 IM (5:33.76) followed with a 200 Butterfly season best (2:44.07). Both finished the meet by swimming in the 100 Butterfly and then swimming in the last relay.
