In a fitting conclusion to a season that Coach Bellis summarized by saying "we had a season where we caught no breaks, but we played really good soccer," the Wildcats soccer team lost to Bethel 1-0 on what can only be classified as a tough bounce.
In a tightly contested match, the Wildcats and Royals played through a scoreless first half and partway through the second the Royals broke through with a contentious goal. After SCU goalkeeper
Bridget Berry caught the ball, she had it knocked out of her hands and into the net. Much to the dismay of the Wildcats team, coaches and fans the goal was not disallowed and Bethel prevailed 1-0.
This game marked the fifth time that the WIldcats lost 1-0 on the season. While not all of them where as disputed as this one, they all were seemingly small breaks that did not bounce right for the Wildcats.
The team finishes the season 6-9-3 overall, and 2-7-2 in MIAC action.
