Nine SCU student-athletes earn Academic Honors

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released its list of Fall 2009 Academic All-Conference Honorees for cross country, soccer and volleyball. Nine St. Catherine University students were included on the list.

The St. Kate's volleyball team recently held their post-season banquet where they handed out team awards and looked back on their record setting season.

Volleyball downs Macalester 3-0

The St. Kate's volleyball finished the first half of the formula that will allow them to qualify for the MIAC playoffs. The Wildcats defeated Macalester 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-14) to improve to 18-12 on the season, and 6-5 in conference play. Now they must wait for the outcomes of Saturday's matches to determine if they will get a chance to play in the postseason tournament.

Volleyball falls to #16 St. Ben's 3-1

On "Dig Pink" and senior night at the Butler Center gym, the St. Kate's volleyball team squared off with #16 Ranked St. Ben's in a MIAC matchup with significant playoff implications. The Wildcats battled the nationally ranked Blazers all night long, but fell 3-1 (21-25, 18-25, 25-16, 21-25).
